A visit and exchange of experience was held in Baso Liben Woreda of East Gojjam regarding the implementation of the Health Extension Program and Primary Health Care Works.
Strengthening access to primary health care units at the national level, improving access and quality of primary health care services to the community is one of the key objectives.
The works will strengthen the network in 367 primary hospitals, more than 3,800 health centers and 17699 health posts in the country.
According to Abraham Ayalew, East Gojjam Zone Administrator, a lot of work is being done in the health sector in the state despite the ongoing wars and other problems in the state.
According to the Ministry of Health’s Health Extension Program and Primary Health Care Directorate, the Jobe Health Center in Baso Liben Woreda, East Gojjam Zone, is leading the way in identifying the highest performing health centers in the country.
Israel Atro, Director of the Health Extension Program and Primary Health Care Unit of the Ministry of Health, said various trainings have been provided nationwide to provide quality service and capacity building at health centers.

The visit, which was attended by the best performing health officials, East Gojjam zone administrators, religious leaders, and invited guests, will be a great contribution to the use of documents for the future of the country.
